Speaking of banana slugs, your blog is indeed helping spread some knowledgge throughout the world.

Just yesterday, I was visiting the Georgia Aquarium with my wife and two of our friends. In one of the exhibits, there was a sign discussing how a particular species of fish could, in times of necessity, shift from male to female if the colony was in need of a male. This led to a discussion of hermaphroditic animals, at which point I said " You know, the banana slug is quite an interesting creature. Evidently..." and proceeded to let loose with my recently acquired banana-slug-knowledge.

So that you, Bella in Lotus Land, for making this possible.

Holy smokes-you were educating the aquarium people?! I'm going to have to really watch my fact checking with this kind of attention! :)
